A coup de foudre of branding at its least contestable, the Gucci ad astounded with an unapproachable obviousness when it struck the fashion pages several years ago; no corporate imaging has ever more shrewdly caught the ultimate aspiration for bling, or suggested a higher luxury in its craftsmanship and materials. Gucci asserted its place in history with this ad, and whether it has held it to this day or not, it carved it out completely, then and there.
